In order to support the realization of natural gas infrastructure very little developed in Morocco and to control the various activities that form the gas chain: import, regasification, storage, transport and marketing, it is necessary to put in place a legislative and regulatory framework that allows a harmonious development of this sector.
To this end, this draft law aims at the two main objectives, namely, on the one hand, the establishment of an adequate organization of the sector and an appropriate tariff system for a still embryonic natural gas market in the country. The law aims to give a strong signal to investors, especially foreign investors, to develop infrastructure, equipment and transport and distribution networks that are not very developed today. On the other hand, the law also aims to regulate and control these activities in terms of safety and environmental protection.
